Coming from a small town in northern Minnesota really makes you appreciate the convenience of having so many options for fun things to do around a big city such as Minneapolis. The 3 large lakes in the area provide an excellent way to get out and stay active! Lake Harriet, Calhoun, and Lake of the Isles all have unique qualities to them, and one of the biggest things they provide is an excellent view from their walking paths during either the cold winter months, or the warm summer days. The lakes region has some of the classiest, and most historical houses in the area! Large brick houses with no two looking exactly the same, and the ones on the lakes provide a wonderful view throughout the year!
Lake of the Isles is a great place to visit in the cities if you have a pet that loves to socialize! The dog park their has a separate section for both small and large dogs, and the people are always friendly! If the dog park isn't your thing, then maybe a canoe ride around the lake is more up your alley! Getting to see luxurious homes around the lakes is always fun, and getting to live in that area is something that is a goal for many fellow house lovers. During the winter there are ice-hockey rinks set up with children and adults playing hockey, or for some it's a great place to learn the basics. Lake Harriet is a great place to go during the summertime if you enjoy live music, or even a movie in the park. Almost on a nightly basis they have events going on at the Bandshell on the North end of the lake. The entertainment provided there is always family friendly, and it's a great place to grab a bite to eat, sit down, and enjoy a wonderful evening of socializing and checking out whatever events may interest you and your family! The best part about it is that the events are FREE !! https://www.minneapolisparks.org/activities__events/music__movies/music_in_the_parks/lake_harriet_park_schedule/
The Greenway is also a major perk for people in the metro area that enjoy riding bike, or even just walking on a path that allows you to get away from the busy roads of the cities. Thousands of people use these paths on a daily basis, and they help provide quick and easy routes to destinations across the metro without having to own a vehicle! Getting to exercise with the comfort of knowing that you don't run the risk of getting hit by a vehicle is a huge plus!
If a life around the lakes is something that you're interested in, I would be more than glad to help you on your journey into a wonderful new home! There's opportunities around every corner in the twin-cities, and that's the beauty of living in such an amazing area!
